This project was started with a critical reading of the short paragraph story. The various meanings of the reading was discussed with the instructor and peers, and metaphors and analogies had been developed as a strategy. Firstly, an analogy for the 'empire' was considered as a source to develop the project imagery. The narrative might have taken many forms and it was not restricted to a book.

I wanted to convey the story of the rise and fall of an empire with the metaphor of Andy Warhol's life, but I chose his Campbell's Soup series as the final analogy because the first thing that Andy Warhol reminds me of is Campbell's Soup. During this project, I realized the importance of test-printing, practiced Adobe tools that I had never used, and went through unthinkable processes in making the work.
