The challenge of this project is to design a typographic poster presenting a series of photography exhibitions at the Tate Modern in London.
The program information provided requires analyzing the given content and creating a logical system for presenting it within parameters. After the analysis, focus on establishing a hierarchy of information that is apparent by virtue of the typographic design and composition, and present the information in a way that is clear, relevant and engaging.
The idea is to create a typographic imagery reflecting a camera lens by arranging the titles of the photography exhibitions in spiral. The yellow color in the background reminds the viewers of some representative camera companies, such as Nikon, Kodak, etc. I chose Futura as the main typeface because the most common time period among the backgrounds of the exhibitions is around 1940s, and the most popular typeface in 1940s was Futura.
